935k3 Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 For those who like Plasikote Sandable Primer Gray(T235) and White(T237) check your local Ollie's. I got a bunch for $1.59 a can. They do have some of their other paints. Make sure you are not buying the Enamel primer, they had that too.
charlie8575 Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I do so wish there was an Ollie's near here. They seem to have a lot of good deals. Charlie Larkin
Mooneyzs Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I can't find anyone here that sells the Plastikote Spot Filler & primer Part #466.I have been using it for years and has worked good for me. Looks like I have to order online now. I actually picked up some 2 part primer for my bodies from my local PPG store but for small parts I will continue to use rattle can primer.
Mark Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Didn't see any primer, but found two tall cans of clear lacquer, one can of gloss white, and one of GM Arctic White.
Tom Geiger Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 A couple years back when Ollies advertised the Lindberg kits, I went to one that's about a half hour from my house here in PA. They had few of the kits, but they had a load of the Plastikote line of tall cans (I think they were called truck colors) for a dollar a can. I bought all of the primary colors, all the primer gray and all the flat black and clear. I bought at least a can each of the remaining darker body colors, and they had a ton of those! I think I spent close to $50 at a buck a can. Still working off those cans, except I finally ran out of primer gray and bought a few cans this past summer with a Pep Boys rebate card.
karbuildr Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 I went to my local Ollie's this morning. All they carry is Krylon Velvet. First time I've ever seen that paint. It would have been nice to obtain some Plasti Kote since I haven't seen any in several years in my area.

And what they have from region to region, even store to store can vary. I got the deal on the Plastikote Truck Colors a few years ago and haven't seen any paint there since.
karbuildr Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I kind of figured that. Apparently, not every Ollie's carries the same items.
Tom Geiger Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 An Ollies story... I was in the store one day and they had wine refrigerators on sale cheap. (it's a small under counter refrig with a clear glass door) They had two left. I have a long dead garbage disposal under the counter of my kitchen island. I thought the wine refrigerator would be a cool swap, but I needed to measure. I called my wife and had her do the basic measurements. Then I went to their hardware aisle and borrowed a tape measure.... I had eyeballed the refrig and had a rough idea of it's measurements but the tape just didn't add up. So I went back to the hardware aisle and got a different brand flat ruler.... that's when I realized that this cheap Chinese tape measure wasn't to scale! It was absolutely useless! I laughed and threw it back. Now I'm sorry I didn't buy one! And no the wine refrig was too big!
