Drake69 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Unlike my father-in-law's racecar, this one does not exist. At least that I know of... One of my wife's relations wanted me to build a "companion" NASCAR racer to go along with her dad's car, so I took a few liberties with the build... I didn't use a "dust catcher" on the front of this one because if the driver had left the front grill on the car it would not need anything... I actually had to clip a small triangle in the middle of the front of the bumper bar to allow it to fit in the front.Talk about "Moonshine Engineering"! This one is named "Cherry Bomb".... I used Tamiya Dull Red and Semi Gloss Black for the paint scheme....
Drake69 Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 And now... paired up with Henry's "Sparrow".... This is the Lindberg kit. I stole the large flathead air cleaner setup from this very kit to make the Sparrow engine and still built a not-too-shabby racer out of the rest.
Drake69 Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 Cool Allen, but is the tires wide enough... I would assume so, I mean, this would be late '40s to mid '50s, so they really didn't have a lot of fat tires back then for these cars... And talk about "ironic"... And a car from someone else's build... I think I got it pretty close as far as accuracy goes in the way of suspension and tires.
