LDO Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I know Provence Moulage did, but that is 1/43. Was it ever done in 1/24 or 1/25? Thanks.
Greg Myers Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) Oh, so that's what they look like. Edited April 12, 2015 by Greg Myers
LDO Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 Thanks. I couldn't post a pic on my cell phone.
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Wow. There bees a Ferrari I've never seen before. Pretty car. I could deal with having to look at that every day. Wow.
LDO Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 The first time I saw that was about 25 years ago in a Salon article in Road & Track magazine. IIRC, it was built for someone in a rock & roll band back in the '60s. My memory could be fuzzy, though.

Ace-Garageguy Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) This is interesting. I've found several references to the car having been designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, who also did some very angular cars like the Fiat X1-9. His accomplishments are many and varied, and he's one of my favorite designers. The interesting part is that in the mid-'70s, there was a lot of mindlessly repeated BS concerning his propensity (at the time) to do sharp-edged cars "because he couldn't draw perspective and curves". Probably started by someone a little jealous of his ability. I think that this beautifully voluptuous but elegant design pretty well puts paid to that stupidity. LDO Posted April 12, 2015 Author Posted April 12, 2015 I did not know (or forgot) it was designed by Giugiaro. A quick seerch shows that he worked at Fiat, Bertone, and Ghia, before starting Italdesign in 1968. I am a big fan of his work, throughout his career. I think the ad I saw years ago was from CMA; Creative Miniature Associates. They're still around, but apparently make mostly 1/12 kits. Off topic, but their upcoming Portout-bodied Delage could cause me to part with some hard earned cash.
keyser Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 (edited) 250 SWB chassis 3269GT One-off body by Nuccio Bertone, his personal car. Giorgetto Giugiaro designed it. There have been some 1/24 masters floating around for awhile, hopefully to see casting sometime. Picture of 2 cars has 1739GT, another 250SWB one-off, also bodied by Bertone and drawn by GG. Both cars have been several colors, currently 1739GT is silver, 3269GT is blue. Sorry no 1/24 of either, but 3269GT has potential. 1/43 available, gorgeous details. Edited April 13, 2015 by keyser
unclescott58 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Wow! I really like 3269GT. I've never seen that one before. Scott
