nkempf95
So I have a model that I royally messed up the paint on. Can I just spray a few layers of primer over and then repaint it? Or should I strip it of the paint first?
weasel
depending on how bad... what kind of paint...enamel or lacquer.. a lot of times just take some sandpaper to it and re-shoot... if it's saggy or has a bunch of runs, make sure it's completely dry and sand the runs out... if that doesn't work out, strip it and try again!! Ace-Garageguy
Everything weasel said is true, but you also run the risk of obliterating any fine details if you just primer over the paint and then paint some more. Excessive finish-material thickness is something you really want to avoid. In general, if the model is worth doing a nice job on, it's worth the time and effort to strip it. nkempf95
Thanks a million guys. I guess that's the cool thing about modeling, if at first it's not the right color, paint it again! Edited April 13, 2015 by nkempf95
