Sledsel Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 WIP..... 62 Comet Drag car. Added Thunderbolt scoop, removed molded exhaust, added headers. Remains a curbside. Better pics when finished. Thanks to Bob Boehem for the custom decals
Sledsel Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 The scoop screens are decals.... the body color shows where the wire would be. I need to try for a clear shot of them. Very nice.
Sledsel Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 Yea, I'll be sure to get better ones...... these were last minute because of excitement to get to this point. Paint had to be stripped twice.
Guest Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 That's cool Andy! I have a '61 project almost finished that I turned into a full detail.
misterNNL Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Nice project and an unusual body choice. It remindss me of my first trip to the NHRA Indy national championships in 1964.Sahs and Sons were running their supercharged '64 Comet.Talk about a tire somkin show! The NHRA personell weren't quite sure how to classify them so they put them in B fuel dragster. That trip to Indy and some follow up magazine articles eventually inspired me to build a model of it from an AMT Comet craftsman series snap type kit.Rare kit now but then they were commonly on sale for $1.00.
