1hobby1 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 (edited) Hey all! Just finished up the Tamiya Morris Mini Cooper today! This is my 5th build and I learned so much on this build and I can not wait to build another. This kit is box stock other than spark plug wires, aluminum exhaust tip (I extended it for a blast pipe style look) and interior flocking. For the "carpet" I used embossing powder for the first time and it worked great! For the body I actually used the LMG polishing kit on the factory plastic mold color and was very impressed on how the outcome was after wet sanding, and finished it off with some rubbing compound and wax. There was definitely a noticeable difference in the finish. Also I decided not to glue the roof on so I can always remove it to show off the interior and then put the top back on. I am almost finished with a Camaro so that will be up here soon enough as well. Hope you all enjoy, Thank you for looking! Not sure why the wheel looks so crooked, but it's really not that bad at all in person! Hahaha Shot of the engine before the interior was added. Some small engine parts were added after this picture as well but hard to see once the hood is open Thanks again for looking! Edited May 2, 2015 by 1hobby1
chunkypeanutbutter Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Nice little Mini. I've found the joy in embossing powder carpet recently, as well.
Zarana-X Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Great work! I have two of these I have had for years. I found it funny, at the time, that these were $5 cheaper than the stock Mini when this kit is the stock version + the conversion parts
1hobby1 Posted May 2, 2015 Author Posted May 2, 2015 Looks good, just needs a wheel alignment. : ) A small alignment would be good haha the picture shows it worse than it really is

I didn't add the fender flares but the kit has them as well!
