Roadrunner Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 (edited) I have a similar dilemma; every single car that I feel like working on right now, needs money spent to proceed, that I just don't have available at this time. To solve the dilemma, I'm resuming work on my (temporarily abandoned) 1:6 scale Dragon Flak 38, here. This I can finish, without spending a dime (I think). Edited May 7, 2015 by Roadrunner
Junkman Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Do you guys ever have it were you have about 3 or possibly more kits of that one car you like a lot, yet as you look at your collection you aren't attracted to build? No, because no kits are available of the cars I like a lot.
Zarana-X Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I tend to shift from building cars, to post apocalyptic style cars, to sci-fi kits & mecha. So I just change gears for awhile.
Tom Geiger Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Too much stimuli, models all around and message boards with great ideas! I can sit at my bench and spot a dozen promising new projects without leaving my seat! That's why I started my annual Christmas Model Car Amnesty Build. I take a long suffering project and I force myself to drive it through completion. So each year I finish one model to the dozen or two I've started!
afx Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 Do you guys ever have it were you have about 3 or possibly more kits of that one car you like a lot, yet as you look at your collection you aren't attracted to build? As you look around for other choices, you only see maybe one or two you would build at that time? But then the next few days pass, or weeks and you regain appreciation for the kits you weren't exactly feeling at the moment? The subject type tastes changes for me as well, I was recently coming up with ideas for lowriders, now I'm looking at trucks in my stash lol. It doesn't sound like Builder's block is your problem Eric. It sounds like you have too many ideas and each new idea overtakes the last one. Fiddle around with each idea, maybe do a few mock-ups to see which idea is going to keep your interest before you commit to the project. And after committing if the project loses your interest put it aside-no harm done.
