shas Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Could i use this 55 Chevy Cameo engine in a 55 Chevy Bel Air ? I know the air filter is wrong, but that's easy to fix.
Dwight55 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Unless your fussy about color, it should work. 55 Chevy sixes were blue.
oldnslow Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 (edited) Looks like the difference is in the air cleaner. Truck engine, , car engine, the engine in your picks looks like it might be the earlier 50 truck engine, valve cover difference. Edited May 4, 2015 by oldnslow
shas Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 Thank you guys for answers, i found another 6 cyl. Chevy engine in my parts box. This one has an aftermarket valve cover . Could this work?
Longbox55 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Those are both 216 Chevrolet engines, incorrect for any Chevrolet after '53. What you need is the 235 from the AMT '60 Chevrolet truck.
Art Anderson Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Those are both 216 Chevrolet engines, incorrect for any Chevrolet after '53. What you need is the 235 from the AMT '60 Chevrolet truck. With the correct updraft aircleaner/plenum from Kitchen Table Resins. Art
