What color is the chassis of this Bicentennial edition? I'll be starting the Revell W-900 kit with these color scheme soon. Any tips or advice is welcome.

Thank you all. I'm planning to paint the chassis flat black (as a primer) and then paint it gold to make the gold a little darker.

The frame is gold, and the interior was blue.

Actually the interior was white with red and blue trim. The gold was kinda of an odd tannish gold.

Here are those pictures I mentioned:

I thought I had a shot of a blue interior, but this shot does show that it is white.

Tyrone Malone's Papa Truck transporter for the Super Boss race truck was a 1976 Kenworth K 100 VIT 200 Bicentennial, so it basically has the same paint sceme, frame and interior colors...good to know if you want to build one.

Looked nice but they were hard to keep clean.

The Revell snap kit is a perfect start with the exeption of the 8 bag air ride as it wasn't available yet in 1976. Most vit200s I saw had either the KW torsion bar or 4 spring suspension.

The Kenworth 4 bag Dual Air suspension came in 1961 wich I believe was replaced with the Air Glide 100 8 bag, and you could also have Walking Beam, "Monkey Motion" or "Big Six" suspension.
But the torsion bar was popular for on highway trucks.

See? Good think you didn't listen to me. LOL.

This is a cool rig, I can't wait to see the progress on this one. Might be worth building one myself, I'd love to see one of these on my shelf.

WOW! Great photos. Thank you guys! I'll post the finished truck when I'm done. The decals are on the way, from Model Truckin. And got the kit last night at my local Hobby Lobby with 40% off :D

I also like these Bicentennial KW's.

There are more limited edition trucks that can be done.
Kenworth had except for the 1976 Bicentennial Edition the 1981-82 Gold Nugget, the 1985 Liberty Edition, the 1990 007 Edition and the 1979 Canada 25 Year Silver Edition, and the 1973 trucks with the gold KW grille bug emblem for the Kenworth 50 year anniversary.
Peterbilt had the Patriot paint scheme for 1976 and certainly some more that I haven't found out about yet.

Mack had the All American Stars and Stripes paint scheme for their 70th anniversary 1970 and for sure some more, they also had a bicentennial edition as most of the other manufacturers.

There are also some limited edition trucks from Australia, they have Bicentennial trucks and Gold Nugget trucks and for sure some more.

The truck in the picture above (my first post on this thread) does not have Alcoa wheels in the back. Does anybody know what wheels are those and what color?
