YBlock292 Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 UPDATE: MAY 17 2015 Just a test fit chassis to body: Dashboard with a "fake version" of "fakewood"
microwheel Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Nice start. I think the color really works on it. I like your dash detail as well. Keep up the good work.
om617 Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Looking very good. I bet foil on those wheel arches was fun.
YBlock292 Posted May 18, 2015 Author Posted May 18, 2015 Sidney: For the dashboard I used "Brown" and "Tan" along with a little bit of thinned black with an almost dry brush. Tommy: I was lucky that the wheels were already chrome plated, so I hat to apply "Steel" - color in the middle section and a darker version of "Steel" on the inner circle of the wheels, but not to much, so that the nuts are still visible.
10thumbs Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Ludwig, are you saying the fake wood is paint? Fantastic! Michael
YBlock292 Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 Yes, several layers of paint. Thanks, Michael!
426-Hemi Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Ludwig, NICE wood simulation man! That sir looks AWESOME! The details on that dash is incredible! -NICE work!!!!!
YBlock292 Posted May 22, 2015 Author Posted May 22, 2015 (edited) UPDATE: Interior completed Edited May 22, 2015 by YBlock292
10thumbs Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Hi Ludwig, the interior looks better than the real cars did! What paint did you use? Michael
YBlock292 Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 Thank You, guys! I used Tamiya TS-29 semigloss black for the interior. Meanchwile I put the tub into the body and glued both onto the chassis with a photo taken of the engine before the big aircleaner will cover everything:
