Bennyg Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 That looks awesome! Really enjoying watching this one. Ben
Atmobil Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 This looks really great, sorry to see all your paint troubles but it looks like you got it in the end. Here is a link to the swedish tv program Trafikmagasinet when they did a special on the launch of the 850. Not many of you will understand much of what is said but enjoy the pictures anyway
charlie8575 Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 I've had cars that refuse to be painted, too. I'm dealing with one now. After stripping, give it a thorough cleaning in soapy water. There might be something on the plastic that even the stripper isn't getting off. I'd also recommend one of the Little Motor Kar Ko. paint stands. About $10 U.S., and they work nicely. They really grip the body and it won't fall off. Charlie Larkin
Cpt Tuttle Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Volvos of this era had a dark, almost black, grey shade on the trim but it faded very quickly and is almost white on most 850 and late model 740 cars that's still on the road today, the same goes for the taillamps that usually are horrible looking....
DrKerry Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Looks good Curtis, I've wanted to get this kit myself for awhile now. Now you have me wanting to find one even more!!!! LOL
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Coming along nicely Curtis. As for the trim, maybe a very dark shade of Grey would work.
