b-body fan Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Fabbed this scoop up using styrene. Thought it came out good for a first try at it. It's under primer. Needs a little fill work, but overall I'm pretty happy with it. The car is going to be a mild street machine. No real extensive mods. Pretty much the hood and rear wheel wells, and maybe some interior touches. A dual quad Hemi and a 4 speed trans. Always open to suggestions. Thanks, Mike.
Jantrix Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Nice project. How about some billboard "hemi" decals? http://firebird-designs.ecrater.com/p/20357839/1968-roadrunner-hemi-billboards-decal-set-125 I've bought three sets of declas from this vendor, but have yet to use them. They look top-notch.
b-body fan Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 Thought I'd add this. If you ever build this kit, there are some parting lines on top of the rear quarters just at the bottom rear of the back windows. They are very small. I didn't catch them till after primer. Drivers front fender had a small ding just above the marker lamp.(I don't know if this is a mold defect or on just the one I have. Hope this helps someone.
carcrazy19 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I like what I see so far...The hood scoop is looking good.
Southern Fried Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Looks good. I plan a base Wedge Road Runner.
b-body fan Posted June 14, 2015 Author Posted June 14, 2015 Just built one. Love them. I built it for my friend. He has a 68. Pics of it here under first model I've built in 30 years.
b-body fan Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 Pretty happy with this interior. Gonna give it a shot of dulcote to tone down the gloss. Other than that I'm pretty satisfied.
b-body fan Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 Did a quick mock up. Dulcote did the trick on the interior.
superbike-shaun Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 B-buddy,you are looking good, specially the "Hemi",you might want to pull the chassis forward 1/8 inch, had to do the same to mine. Shaun
b-body fan Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 Thanks Shaun. Fitment does seem a little off.
rustybill1960 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 One super nice build Mike I really like your interior work very sharp Thank You for sharing Later Russ
b-body fan Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015 In the home stretch. Some details and touch up's to add yet. Making progress though.
