I am not really knowledgeable on Fords (or Mopars either). The AMT 56 Ford chassis leaves much to be desired given its age. Would the current Revell 57 Ford chassis be correct for a 56? If so, has anyone tried to fit with the AMT 56?

Thanks,

Not even close, Gerry!

Where the '56 Fords were based, believe it or not, on the 1952 Ford chassis and even the body (heavily facelifted for 1955), the '57 was, save for powerplants, an all new car from the tires upward. Longer, lower, wider, and with the then radical Ford "Fishbelly" frame.

The Lindberg '53 Victoria would be the better option. The '57 was pretty much an all new platform.

There were four major redesigns of full-size Ford car chassis after World War II. The first came with new '49 Fords. The second, with the '57s. Then there was the all new chassis for 1965. This last until the Panther chassis of 1979. Which takes us up to the last Crown Victoria. All full-size Fords in between each chassis redesign rode on variations of those basic designs.
