Mr Stock Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 This is hopefully a straight forward question, and Im hoping I can use what I have.Ive just received a Revell 67 Sox & Martin GTX kit which has the motor/trans missing, can I use the optional Hemi and trans from the Revell 68 Charger kit, looking at the instructions it looks as if the only difference is in the trans which is moulded with the block halves on the GTX and is seperate on the Charger.Hopefully somebody can give me some info.Gary
Jantrix Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 I'm sure there will be a few adjustments to be made but they are the same scale, and the same engine. Get some white glue, glue the major engine parts together temporarily and see how it fits.
Force Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Yes as Bill says it will fit, both are B-bodies, both are Hemis and both are the same scale.
1972coronet Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Wrangle up a Dana 60 rear while you're at it . The 8/34 is absolutely incorrect for any 1966-1972 4-speed / 440 or Hemi combo . Then there's that incorrect 4-blade direct-drive fan ...
Force Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Well the NASCAR cars had 8 3/4" axles and 4-speeds, it was lighter and easier to change gearing in than the Dana 60...and they didn't need the strength. But the Dana 60 became available in street cars 1966 so it would be correct with a Dana.
Mr Stock Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 Thanks for all the advice lads much appreciated, I thought it would be fine and you have confirmed my thoughts.
