BIGTRUCK Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 At first glance you would think this tooling is getting bad, there is a bad dimple on the right front fender in a bad spot. Now this was a 1995 issue, I have the original hardtop and convertible and both have this dimple. cant miss it. With a few mold lines and a slight rocker issue repair. I think it will make a good long low custom.
Sledsel Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 That dimple was not too bad to fix. Love this kit!Have not done the custom version yet tho. Can't wait to see this.Subscribed
BIGTRUCK Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015 Used part of original stock front end minus the bumper, the custom front that came with the kit was just to flat and I used custom kit rear chrome.
BIGTRUCK Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 Got this one far enough getting ready to paint, the decals I want to use are from the original Thunderbird kit. The sheet looked perfect so I cut out one for a test and it just cracked to pieces. I then clear coated the sheet and let dry for 2 days, did another test and it seems it will not adhere to a flat surface even with decal set. The decals go well with the Inca Gold paint but may have to abort the decals. Mixed some flocking and added P/E window cranks, Engine just a stock build. Will finish interior today, just need to finish seat backs, paint top of dash body color and do the T.V. Head lights drilled out and clear lenses installed
BIGTRUCK Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 wait a few days, clear, try decals, and polish it up
