IceMan Collections Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) Now that I got my juices flowing again, I'm moving on the next one quick. Started it after putting the Continental in the display case. It's Pro Street month over at Jerry's Cherrys so I figured this would be a great candidate. Easy donor. Should fit like a glove...not OJs though. Better. And I'm trying to decide on which PE wheels to use which I'll revisit later. I cast those rear sleeves and they are great for so many tires and wheels. So far, I've cleaned up the body and hood a bit. Saw this on a project here so I thought I'd try it. Built a fuel cell for the interior of the wagon. I'm hoping you'll be able to see it through the rear window. Edited August 19, 2015 by iceman-555
geemoney Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 the wheels on the right are my faveyou cast nice rims too!
dragzz Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 i like the wheels on the right as well keep up the good work iam going to watch this build
mikemodeler Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 I am watching this one too, which resin supplier is the body from? I have one from Bandit Resins, been thinking about what could be.
IceMan Collections Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 Thanks guys. I'm not quite sure, Mike. I've had this one for years and I got it in a collection I bought. Any markings that might help identify its maker? A tad bit of work this afternoon. Hopefully, I can do a little more work on it before going to bed. Here are some additional goodies I will be using to dress it up. Putting some parts through the de-chroming process. And then finally, I put some primer on the body to look for any additional work it might need. I will add that it is a very well done body.
IceMan Collections Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 Did a bit more tonight. Prepared the parts I de-chromed for Alclad. Primer and Black base. I wet sanded the body for another coat of primer tomorrow.
slusher Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Strong start and great project Iceman. Love those wheels...
dragzz Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 that looking great so far . the primer came out well i see what kind did u use on it
Jmaracing Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 This looks awesome so far.great job, can't wait to see it done!
DumpyDan Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Wow, looks really good so far keep them photo's coming
IceMan Collections Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 Thank guys. I want to see it done also, Joe, but I'm trying to not let patience take the best of me...although it doesn't seem to be working as you can tell.Thomas - Believe it or not, the primer is the cheap one from Walmart.
Jantrix Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Looks great so far, but I think that peice between the velocity stacks is supposed to be removed.
IceMan Collections Posted August 4, 2015 Author Posted August 4, 2015 You're absolutely correct, Rob. It's coming off after the last coat of chrome/aluminum/silver etc. The final wash will hide whatever is left from separating it. It was easier to brush the chrome off like this. And that's assuming I use them. Still looking for a pair of aftermarket ones. Having a very hard time deciding on colors for this one. Here are a few I've come up with. Thoughts anyone?
IceMan Collections Posted August 5, 2015 Author Posted August 5, 2015 Thanks for the feedback John. Little bit of work tonight.
IceMan Collections Posted August 7, 2015 Author Posted August 7, 2015 Thanks Carl and Thomas.. should be be getting more didn't this weekend.
IceMan Collections Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 Carl - it's model master acrylic. guards red with a bit of crimson red. While waiting for the wife to get ready, I put the plugs in. Now off to run some errands
IceMan Collections Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 Alright, I'm back from running errands. Today it really felt like I put some good bench time on this one. Pulleys in place as well as the alternator and bracket. The engine is just about complete. Some minor last finishing touches are needed. Some chassis work I had sanded this the other night so another layer of red and then the first layer of purple is on.
