bonehead23 Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) I finished a '37 gasser, and saw an article in a magazine that had both a '37 and a 39 gasser...so i dug out this Monogram '39 lowrider kit, jacked it up, hopped it up, and soon it heads for paint.. The mill in AMT's 37 is a bit lame, but in the '39, Monogram dealt us a nicely detailed 427, replete with a much better-fitting and looking blower. i added a 1/20 scale injector (gassers need BIG injectors, right?) and made a scoop out of a little tool box. I still need to finish the exhaust and paint details but it is mostly done. Edited August 22, 2015 by bonehead23 Add photo-fresh from paint
DumpyDan Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Got to love them 39 chevy kits, looks great keep it coming.
Jantrix Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I did one of these myself. The '39's make great gassers.
bonehead23 Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 (edited) Stephen, what are the headers made of?I use 1/16" solid core solder. (acid or resin core can cause problems) Drill the heads, glue in the solder, trim and shape, and add collectors from heat-shrink tubing...of course I haven't quite done all this yet, but it is simple and no kit headers look as good as home-made!
