BIGTRUCK Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 While waiting a few days on my other build I got going I started another. Im gonna go through all my duplicate kits and build them as customs. This 64 Chevy had a few dimples and some extra thick plastic running inside the drivers door . With the blems smoothed out and front and rear custom bumpers added and smoothed I found some lower rocker panel treatments from 66 old T- bird kit and some chrome reverse wheels from the 57 T-bird kit.Found older grille in parts box with clear lenses. Color is still in the air but Im gonna try the Testors all in one brand again. I was a little leary on this paint without using a base coat , but I liked it, [this time]
MeatMan Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Anxious to see the results. I've got a '64 I bought for the 409 but plan to build it up later with another engine.
cobraman Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I just finished that kit and used the same front end. Good luck with your build.
BIGTRUCK Posted August 14, 2015 Author Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) I just finished that kit and used the same front end. Good luck with your build. Thanks cobra man. The front end that came with the kit had grille lines and head lights, but the head lights stuck out funny. I drilled out 2 of them gave up and went with this front end instead Edited August 14, 2015 by BIGTRUCK name spelling
carnut Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 I like what you got going here so far, looks cool keep it going.I got a chopped custom going as well, using a similar front end.
BIGTRUCK Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 I found a better wheel choice ,I think, and had the interior almost done. Then like everything I try to do I stripped it, carpet flock and all. I decided to mold the rear seat into the rear shelf and try my hand at scratching a custom interior. The rear lights I blocked the back of the tail light holes and been building it up with window maker to get a smooth lens.
