otherunicorn Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I had little trouble with my 76 front end.
bismarck Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Me too. Had to sand a lot of the side marker light detail off, but I fought it into shape. I didn't run into the hood fit problem that this kit is known for.
gardnerpag44 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 A little more progress on this , as I have decided to build a short track pavement stock car and by the rules I used both buckets to make a racing seat for this , and using parts trees for the roll cage , have all marker lights...door handles...wipers...rear window chrome and hinges...and name scrips removed and drilled out where the holes should be . Getting the tires and wheels together from a ASA Camaro stock car kit
bismarck Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 WOW!! that looks COOL!!! Good idea sectioning the kit "weight watcher" seats. I may need to borrow that idea.
TimJ Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I'm still trying to blend in the rear side window openings, it's slow progress but I'm getting there. It looks like the axles will need shortening too.
bismarck Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Looking good Tim!! Looks GOOD in primer too!!!

bismarck Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 (edited) Can't go wrong with Cragar wheels and primer!! My first car in high school was a '68 chevy II Nova that had that exact primer paint job and wheel option. Drove it that way for 3 year's before painting it black, then selling it to join the ARMY. disabled modeler Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Funny thing is AMC used Craiger wheels on some of their car straight from the factory...one of my late uncles cars had them and he bought it new. AMC offered a lot of options many of them were wild ideas and cool.
TimJ Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I've started work on the interior by making a forward extension to the load bay using the rear seat backrest and front spoiler. After some trimming it was fitted to the interior tub. The headers have been fitted to the engine which has been test fitted to the chassis.
bismarck Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Lookin good Tim!! I think i'm gonna leave the rear seat out of mine for now.
gardnerpag44 Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Thanks Kevin appreciate that and the end result on the seat still needs painted but finished More soon
bismarck Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 That seat looks like the real deal!! I found a split bench out of the amt '71 charger kit that's going in the Gremi after the deadline is met. Fits just right with a little persuasion. Along with a set of slapper bars, sideview mirrors, and maybe a rearview mirror. But not until AFTER the build-off is done.
otherunicorn Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I had no electricity all day yesterday, so I worked on this, including sitting in the dark, working with a LED headband light.
bismarck Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Cool!! You going to use the tinted windows? that would really set the silver off.
gardnerpag44 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Thanks Kevin Ken this is looking very cool some nice work so far
gardnerpag44 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Got my tires & wheels done except decals , more soon

b-body fan Posted September 27, 2015 Author Posted September 27, 2015 The clock is ticking so I figured I'd better make some progress. I was hoping this would come out better. My work schedule has been brutal this month and I've had other things going on. Anyhow, just a few details and some touch-up left and I'm going to call it done. This has been a lot of fun, I wish I could have spent more time on it. Hope you like it. Mike.
bismarck Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Looks good Mike!!! I got a little bit more done on mine tonight. Got the glass in it, and did some motor work. I should have it finished up by Tuesday night. Do we post picks of our builds after the deadline Thursday?
bismarck Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 I also spotted your Harley peeking out from behind your gremmi. Those Chromed rims look alot better than the black!!!
b-body fan Posted September 27, 2015 Author Posted September 27, 2015 Post pics Thursday is fine Kevin. Shoot them my way if you need and I'll post them for you.
