Bainford Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 (edited) Polar Lights 64 GTO Convertible. I built this one as a 'quick builder' so I could manage to get something finished off of the bench, but it still took too long. This kit is not without its issues, but overall I'm more pleased than I expected to be. It's built pretty much box stock with some basic painting and detailing. The paint was polished with Tamiya polishes. Edited March 6, 2008 by Bainford
MarkJ Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 For a quick build it looks like you did an excellent job!! Paint looks perfect!!
Harry P. Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Nice! But it looks to me to be way too cold to be running with the top down...

Bainford Posted April 22, 2008 Author Posted April 22, 2008 Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments. I really like this one myself. Funny how sometimes its the quick builders that you don't expect much from, that end up being the ones on the shelf that make you stop and think, "That looks pretty cool". I'm not into convertibles, and don't really think the 64 GTO is a great looking car, but for some reason this one keeps catching my eye. Harry, it is a bit cold for a top down cruise, but I thought it made for a neat picture. When I was 18, a buddy had a 68 Barracude convertible, and we would cruise in the dead of winter with the top down. When I was young it seemed like a cool thing to do, now it just seems like a cold thing to do.

Harold Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Nice goat, bainford. Just tell 'em you're taking it back to the repair shop because the top won't go up. Or you're trying to get that Roaring Twenties touring car feeling. Great job.
