Junkman Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I'm gonna paint mine pink and put Hello Kitty decals on it.
Cato Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Ben,Thanks for posting. Is the shaft accurate, meaning no wobble? Or is the replacement bearing you mentioned better for accuracy?
Ben Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 Ben,Thanks for posting. Is the shaft accurate, meaning no wobble? Or is the replacement bearing you mentioned better for accuracy?Hello, yes, the main shaft is machined steel and spins true. It spins at a very low RPM, so it should stay in balance forever. The bearing upgrade is suggested as the main bearing in the kit is just a plastic "doughnut" after a good bit of use, it may Waller out a bit so the metal, sealed bearing would prevent this from ever happening.

Maindrian Pace Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Just got mine in from an ebay seller in Japan. I replaced the white plastic bushing with a 5x11mm ball bearing (the most common size in Tamiya R/C cars) left over from my old R/C days. Nice little drill, really torquey too. Sure beats spinning drill bits with my fingers.
Dave Van Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 It was more difficult to get it to run well than any Tamiya R/C kit I every built....but it's working fine now....and yes beats finger spinning bits!
