kpnuts Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Hi all well this will be my last post on this one till at least next friday as off for the funeral in Scotland tomorrow. I broke and lost part of the steering last night so had to make a new bit gave the bottom another coat of muck and added a bit of grease also (although my art days are way behind me nowadays)(and I never could do portraits)this is supposed to be Rene from Allo Allo, he will be behind a dirty window in the dio so I may get away with it, if not there's always plan B.
kpnuts Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 possible background may change a bit don't know till I start this is drawn to 1/8 scale measuring our doors and the hight of our sills.
Lucas van H Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I absolutely love the weathering you have done, fantastic work! How did you paint the rear seat? Looks very convincing. Lucas.
kpnuts Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 I paint the base colour (the lighter of the two ) allow that to dry then screw up some cling film, then apply the darker colour and whilst still wet I dab it with the cling film till I get the look I want (turning the cling film all the time) then when dry coat with satin varnish, allow that to dry then use washes to dirty it up, hope that helps.
Lucas van H Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Thanks, I've been trying to get that same look for a while without result. Definately gonna try that out on some scrap seats. Lucas.
kpnuts Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 Good luck mate, it's an easy way. Looks good as a top coat on cars, called the marbeling effect, check out my kwak z1 build.
kpnuts Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 Hi all well back tonight, and this was waiting for me. I think it looks cool on the rear seat(tried the boot but its too big) just have to find out which Machine gun it is and how it looked after a bit of battering,
sjordan2 Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Aren't you going for a WWII resistance theme?
kpnuts Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 Hi all yet another update, YAWN, you must be getting bored I know I am Skip I am I figure they stole it from the germans (its more than possible, its how they got most of their weapons)
Foxer Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I'm sure not getting bored with this ... it's actually going much faster than anything on my bench! ... and it just keeps looking better and better.
Eric Macleod Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 I agree. There's nothing boring about this model at all. You make me want one of my own. .though I do not think my skills are any match for yours. Not sure I have a big model like this in me. I sure admire your work with this one.

I don't like building large scale kits myself, mostly because I want my builds to look natural next to each other on the shelf. Heller does make a 1/24 Traction Avant .. the 15 CV. It is a very nice kit and even has an engine! I started it but have no wip started. This one will fit on my shelf!
Eric Macleod Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 I did not know about the 1:24 Citroën. I think I need one!
kpnuts Posted January 19, 2016 Author Posted January 19, 2016 I often wish mine was that small( its a substantial piece of plastic, it weighs a fair bit for a plastic kit) people keep telling me I'm on the last leg now (you should see the stuff left in the box) still a fair way to go yet.

kpnuts Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 Hi all. Finished the weathering on the side windows (I must say I'm quite pleased with it)also did the ammo box and made a start on the backdrop.
Foxer Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 (edited) Box up on one leg too! Weathering is superb! Edited January 21, 2016 by Foxer
kpnuts Posted January 22, 2016 Author Posted January 22, 2016 A small update, and a question would I get away with these as Sten Guns.
kpnuts Posted January 24, 2016 Author Posted January 24, 2016 Hi all did a bit more on the background, this will be HUGE when finished
kpnuts Posted January 27, 2016 Author Posted January 27, 2016 Hi all bit more of the background done, I feel I'm on the last leg now.
