bobthehobbyguy Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Smart chioce. Too much nice work for you to rush it. Looking forward to more progress.
exesivefire Posted September 30, 2015 Author Posted September 30, 2015 Revel cuda' donated its exhaust manifolds, flipped backwards. A bit of .100 rod and a cut up paint brush and we have an exhaust now. Paint is drying as we speak.
GTJUNIOR Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Love the reversed manifolds, really cool!
Jantrix Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 (edited) I tried the reversed headers idea few years ago using copper electrical wire. I couldn't make the joints as clean as you did so I went with the wrap. Which didn't last unfortunately. Yours is much nicer than what I ended up with. Edited September 30, 2015 by Jantrix

The beauty of posing on the Internet, is I don't have to post all the tries that failed! Ha i think I got it on the 3rd attempt Edited September 30, 2015 by exesivefire
dino246gt Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 That is SO cool, love it! Nice running comments on the construction, KEWL!!!
exesivefire Posted October 1, 2015 Author Posted October 1, 2015 Small update, made a driveshaft out of aluminum tubing and the ends from the 32. Also tweaked the exhaust down a bit to make room for the steering rod.
exesivefire Posted October 2, 2015 Author Posted October 2, 2015 (edited) Got to the detailing on the engine tonight, glad that's almost over! My eyeballs hurt. started easy with some oil staining on the oil filter and plug then moved on to throttle linkage and fuel delivery. Edited October 2, 2015 by exesivefire
exesivefire Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 Thanks pat, oddly enough the engine detailing while being the most frustrating is my favorite part
Yenkocamaro Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Love this build! Thanks for sharing the in progress details. Pretty risky location for a radiator, did you put the electric fan on the underside, or did you not install it yet? Cheers,Lance
exesivefire Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 Haven't installed the fan yet. Nor have I committed to where it's going
slusher Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Great stance. I really like the killer engine and cool exhaust...
exesivefire Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 Blower drive, belts, radiatior hoses and fuel lines buttoned up. Engine and body got mounted and epoxy is drying now. On the home stretch.
Kustom Steve Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Looking good Andy. Hope to see the model at the North Coast meeting Tuesday.
