Thanks! There's part of me that would've liked to see a more faithful movie adaptation of the book, but I'm quite happy to have the two exist as totally separate entities. I think I'm more mad about Tamiya not re-releasing their YJ kit so I can make a book-accurate Jeep to go with the Land Cruiser 😆

That Tamiya Jeep YJ kit has not been made in a long while.  I think that someone did a set of JP decals for it in the past but cannot be absolutely sure about this.

I snagged one to turn into the movie Jeep, and ended up making my own decals for that as well:

But I'd like to do a "what if" book version. I thought about using the Monogram CJ-7 since the year Jeep was never specified in the text, but hadn't fully comitted to the idea yet. I don't know if a three-year-old Jeep would be more or less appropriate as a staff vehicle.
