OK, fellas, here we go. At long last it seems I may have my major painting issues worked out (I had all sorts of problems), so I'm tackling my second Vicky. Here's a shot of the kit I'll be using.

I've basically trashed three paint jobs in a row, but believe I've now worked it out to my satisfaction. Still a ways to go, but I'm happy with my progress so far.

Interior bucket is pretty 'Plain Jane", but for this particular model, that's perfectly OK with me.

Frame is assembled and awaiting paint. I haven't bothered with exhaust, as there will be no engine, though I may add that later, the exhaust that is.

I decided to go ahead and build the little trophy too, why not?

This is one pair of wheel/tire combinations that came with the kit. I may use the tires, but I certainly won't use these wheels, not on this car anyway.

Black (Testors Blazing Black Metallic), actually turned out OK, not perfect by a long shot, but I can certainly live with this.

The old hood was one item that I failed to screw up, so I'll be using it now. Needs more polishing I think, we'll see what happens there.

Sunday I finished prep work on the new body and primered, yesterday I painted, and today I clear coated (3 coats), tomorrow I'll polish.

Thanks a bunch, fellas, I certainly appreciate the thoughts. Up until today, even though I’d “seen” these colors together in my mind, I’d never actually put them together,… odd. Now that I have, my concerns have been alleviated, as I think it really works. Thoughts?

The paint on that Vicky looks really nice. Will you be painting the cloth insert on the top of the body, or no?

Actually, the kit comes with three complete sets of wheels, those depicted on the box art, the ones from my photo above, and a set of Chrome mags that I'm considering using.

This is somewhat strange,... box stock, this thing seems to ride real high. There doesn't seem to be a lot of wiggle room for adjusting height, so I may just have to live with it on this one. I'll be doing three or four more Vicky kits, so perhaps I can figure out how to drop the body/fenders on those.

I had intended to grab a set of AMT Polyglas tires for this, but with the ride height being what it is, I may not bother now, waiting instead until I build the next one. Is this other kit of the Vicky any different? Anybody know?

Sure would be nice if there was a way to lower your car Kevin. Any chance of using the Revell axles etc. ?
