Brendan Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 #53 Panoz Esperante GTLM driven by both the Robertsons, 8 cylinder harmony, I think Elan Power is the engine. I said it was going to be easy.
Nick F40 Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 next or do mine, it still hasn't been answered.
lordairgtar Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 (edited) What is this? Edited March 23, 2008 by lordairgtar
Brendan Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 This one might be a little harder. Name/make of car. Manufacturer of the motor.
CAL Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 (edited) This one might be a little harder. Name/make of car. Manufacturer of the motor. Allard J2X Powered by a 3.5 liter Honda F-1 V10 or a Ford DFR or 6.5 Chevy. Edited March 23, 2008 by CAL
Jon Cole Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Not sure on that one but, Tell me make, model, year, who made it, engine, and what it competed in........................ Ford Escort Mk 1, Twin Cam, probably around 1968 to 1970, rally/historic racing series
CAL Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 (edited) Likely a Euro Ford Escort Mk. 1 RS2000 then I guess it could be an 1800 or 1600 though. Edited March 23, 2008 by CAL
Brendan Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 Allard J2X Powered by a 3.5 liter Honda F-1 V10 or a Ford DFR or 6.5 Chevy. dead on.
lordairgtar Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 1926ish Ford Police Specail Nope, not Ford at all.
Harry P. Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 What is this? well, since the name of each image is GAZ, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess Gaz??? 1920s era.
Modelmartin Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 well, since the name of each image is GAZ, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess Gaz??? 1920s era. Henry Ford set up a plant for the Russians. Only problem being that GAZ (Gorkovsky Avtomobilny Zavod) started production in 29 with Model As and the car in question looks more 27 T like in some details (Body) and Model A (Fenders) in others. I would have to say that it is a 29 GAZ.
lordairgtar Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 GAZ was started in 32, so yes, the plant produced 1929 or 30 type clones of the A. They also did a clone of the 33 and 34 Ford but had slightly redesigned the grille with a vertical bar in the middle. After that, they started making their own designs.
CAL Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 ahhh that's what was throwing me off. It sure looked like a ford badge on the rad, but it looked a little different than a 26 Ford. So I thought it might have been a specail Ford, didn't think of a Euro copy.
Brendan Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 ok another? It looks like a Radical with a motorcycle motor. But I'm probably wrong.
CAL Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 It looks like a Radical with a motorcycle motor. But I'm probably wrong. Not exactly, the engine concept was used in a motorcycle, but it's powered by a Mazda 13B Renesis. It's not a Radical.
Jon Cole Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 OK, usually I throw out a photo and see if you can guess what it is. In this case, I have no idea what it is! Anyone?
Nick F40 Posted March 24, 2008 Author Posted March 24, 2008 Gotta love rotories! Ford Escort Mk 1, Twin Cam, probably around 1968 to 1970, rally/historic racing series yes you are right Likely a Euro Ford Escort Mk. 1 RS2000 then I guess it could be an 1800 or 1600 though. yeah, it is the 1600. BUT who made/raced it!
lordairgtar Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 OK, usually I throw out a photo and see if you can guess what it is. In this case, I have no idea what it is! Anyone? Wow, could be some kind of home built British thing. I do know what the tank is behind the drivers seat. It's a coal gas generator to produce gas to operate the engine. Common during WWII when petrol was scarce or rationed.
