Olle F Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Looks like a Volvo 142 GT(?) from the seventies.... It sure looks like a 142 (not necessarily a GT), and the Swedish license tag is one giveaway.
Olle F Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Not even close.... keep guessing You know, now when I look again I can see that the roofline is not right for a 142... Could possibly be a com-bloc car that has been "Volvofied"... or is it an "A-tractor" or "EPA-tractor"?
dub Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 OK, it's an EPA tractor with Volvo 142 body panels hung on it..... those door handles and shoulder line are VOLVO.
Olle F Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 OK, it's an EPA tractor with Volvo 142 body panels hung on it..... those door handles and shoulder line are VOLVO. You'll see those door handles on all kinds of customized cars in Sweden (they're a dime a dozen at the junk yards), but the rest sure looks like a Volvo too... An EPA tractor with 142 body on Duett frame, maybe?
george 53 Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Wot the HECK are you guys talkin bout?????Volvo shoulders epa tractors??!! What is the goofy lookin lil car in post 583 looks like sumpthin we woulda made outa ol refridgerator boxes.I don't think even flames would make that thing look good,AN FLAMES make ANYTHING cool!!!!

Guest zebm1 Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 OK, yall got me....it's an EPA Traktorno........ Top speed ---- 65 mph Downhill with a 70 mph tailwind. You don't even need a driver's license to drive one of these..... Ahhh notice tha Sloooow Vehicle Warning? Now where's my picture of tha fella with a 3 cylinder SAAB Story........

See ya round!
Olle F Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Now where's my picture of tha fella with a 3 cylinder SAAB Story........ The SAAB 93, with a 2-stroke, 3-cylinder engine? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_93 Also check the SAAB 92 with a 2-cylinder engine. These 2-stroke cars were known as the "jungle drums", because of their caracteristic exhaust note. I can still remember the sound and the smell of these...
Harold Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Darn....I'm a gonna have ta get sneakier.... Hispano Suiza Dubonnet, Louis Chevrolet bought, er hired Mr. Dubonnet for the independent a-frame front suspension...... Actually, when William Crapo Durant took over the Little Motor Car Co. of Flint (in an attempt to regain control of GM), he brought Louis Chevrolet along as a partner and Chief Engineer. He needed a Model T competitor and Louis Chevrolet wanted to build upper medium priced cars. Durant won out, and Chevrolet (who was a major shareholder in the enterprise) stormed into Durant's office, and told him he could take his stock and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. That was the last contact Chevrolet had with the company that bore his name.

There are two that go to the hillclimbs and I was at one not to long ago and they were there smoking away and ring a ding dinging away! I'll get pics.....
fordsixty Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 hey nick. the top one is a 1972 clan crusader 875cc coupe. based on a mini. the black and white one i am still working on. it looks like a prototype for some sort of lotus elan sedan; however, the badge does not look right. i will keep looking into it. how about this rare little racer?
