Mr Stock Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Hey all here is my latest build this one was built for the 2015 Cancer awareness build on YouTube. I painted it as close a match as i could find over here in the UK to Hugger orange. Not my best build bit of a 6 footer ! Lol. The kit is what it is.....a typical 60s/70s AMT offering, lots of molded in detail and it took a lot of work to get it looking so I'm happy with it, I have corrected the kits errors in that I removed the side moldings that are leftovers from the 68 Chevelle body and I also cut the vent glass. The rear bumper and taillights are the resin pieces from Missing Link and they look great. The engine is wired with a distributor from Preston's car parts Oh and Harry I know it doesn't have any side mirrors !, they don't come in the kit and I didn't have any correct looking ones in the spares box, it does have an interior mirror however .
CoyoteCrunch Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 I almsot picked this one up yesterday at Hobby Lobby, the newer release anyways. I may still get it, I like how yours came out. Excellent looking!!!!
Bob Ellis Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Nice buildI like this kit. So much that I bought a few. It is actually based the original 1968 annual Chevelle kit. To me, when AMT revived it in 1977-78, they improved the convertible boot versus the promo version convertible that was part of the 1969 annuals. This kit is also a great starting point to build a 1968 Chevelle convertible using Modelhaus '68 Chevelle parts. It comes with the '68 Chevelle vent glass.
