10thumbs Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Hello guys,I've seen here on the forum info and a tutorial about lacing wire wheels. Has anyone actually done it?I don't get the deal about the rims. I can handle the wiring. How do I do the rims?Anyone?Michael
10thumbs Posted October 31, 2015 Author Posted October 31, 2015 Got it!The kit rims should be used. They're cut in halves, then placed back on after the wires are affixed.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I certainly hope you'll document your work and post photos. Should be inspiring to many of us.
10thumbs Posted October 31, 2015 Author Posted October 31, 2015 Hi Bill, I'll do exactly that. I plan on posting stages of the build, and personally I'm real excited about going this direction. A vintage late 60's FED, all metal with spoked front wheels. Even if the first attempts don't work out, I'll stick with it. We can all learn from mistakes as well.
