CarLover Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 HeyI want to build 62 corvette like the one in "agent of shield", now im looking for the right red color, i think it's called "cherry red" someone can help me find this? (search in Google photos "agents of shield corvette" to see the color) I prefer a lacquer paint (i have airbrush) Thanks!
Snake45 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 "Cherry Red" puts me in mind of Model Master Chrysler Engine Red.
CarLover Posted October 31, 2015 Author Posted October 31, 2015 Ok, do you have some example of this paint on model body?
Can-Con Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 (edited) I'm about 99% sure that car is a '62 Chevy factory color called "Roman red" ,, Scale finished has it. Edited October 31, 2015 by Can-Con
High octane Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 I recently painted The Red Baron using Tamiya Mica Red with a coat or two of Tamiya Clear Red over it, and it looks great.
CarLover Posted October 31, 2015 Author Posted October 31, 2015 I can't find this roman red paint... Where can I find it?
MrObsessive Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 (edited) I see that you're in Israel, so I don't know if this fellow can ship there. If you click here, you'll see the listing for 1959 Chevy Roman Red which is the first year that color was offered. It was pretty much the same through those years. Scroll down a bit to see the listing.........he has an order form and email if you've got any questions. Hope this helps! Edited October 31, 2015 by MrObsessive
MrObsessive Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 (edited) This is not a good representation, but Roman Red happens to be the color that I'm going to paint my '59 Chevy when I get to that stage. Here is a pic of the inner fenders of the trunk painted in that color. I had mine mixed a local paint jobber as that's easier for me to have it done there, than ordering it online as I can see what's there before he does the amount I want. CarLover Posted October 31, 2015 Author Posted October 31, 2015 Thanks for the link, i emailed him. How did you mix the paint? By paint code?
MrObsessive Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Thanks for the link, i emailed him. How did you mix the paint? By paint code? As I mentioned, a local paint shop mixed the paint for me. He had all the original codes for that paint to get the right shade. What he mixed up for me amounted to what would be a "touch up" amount for a 1:1. It was unthinned, which is the way I like it.............I airbrush also and I like a certain thickness to my paint mixtures.
CarLover Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 Did you think that Vallejo fire red, or scarlet red, will match? And acrylic color as a paint job to the body is good as lacquer?
