I like to consider myself a decient modeler, but every once in a while I run into something that really humbles me.  This is one of those things.  Sothebys has two running miniature Porsche engines going up of sale.  They guy spent over 1,000 hours on each one.  I can't believe the pre-auction estimate on these is $20,000 to $30,000.  That is paying the builder $20 to $30 dollars an hour.  That is super cheap for the services of a master machinist.
