Greg K Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 (edited) i bought this as an open box and did a quick look through before handing the lady 7 bucks. i envisioned building it as a "wrecker" completely stock. after most of the assembly was done, i was left with just the options of the "stake bed" and "Pro Street". the wrecker parts were all gone! so i just built a bone stock 34 pick up. started to paint the sidewalls, but it looked too fancy for a truck, and removed them. the only things i added were the spark plug wires and tubes that run along side the intake manifold. this model was a real pleasure to build. everything fit perfectly. the only con, was the excessive flash on the parts and no hinged tailgate. the body was painted with rustoleum "smoke gray". i would like to paint the steel runners between the wood slats in the bed, but my eyes and hands aren't as good as the used to be. wayne swayze Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 The smoke grey looks really good on your truck. It turned out good. Mind if I steal your colour choice on my next '34?
Pete L. Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Greg, What a super nice build...lots of attention to detail and a great finish !!!
Renegade Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Great job on a classic kit. One of the first kits I built about fifty years ago. Have built several since then and am currently working on one.
