Channeled '29 interior?

Does anyone think that the Revell '29 body would look right without the interior side panels? I think it's too thick, the body alone is thick enough, adding detail to the inside of the body will yield better interior side panels, or not?

I don't agree.  The Revell 29 Ford is engineered so that the interior panels include the rear wheel wells and those assemblies pretty much snap in place when mated with the floor.  It goes together so well that I wouldn't mess with it.  If I remember correctly, nothing is glued in this photo. It was all just snapped in place for the photo

The Revell interior panels really are hugely thick. You could build really fat door and quarter interior panels if you wanted to in 1:1, but that's not the way it's usually done. I wouldn't.

Here are a few real cars for comparison. Though one is an RPU, the panel thickness is pretty obvious on all of them.

That's actually a great idea, household foil, filled with 5 minute epoxy from the back, then painted, definitely thinner! 

I agree that the parts fit is excellent from the box though!

People will probably start stoning me for this, but while I think the new Revell 29 is a great kit, the body, to me is "Notso-hotso" The moldings are heavy handed, and I don't care for the raised rear wheel wells. If I was going to build a highboy, I'd sub the AMT body. To me it looks more like the real one.
