rusty85 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 1970 Dodge Charger powered by a Mercury Racing 9.0 liter twin turbo marine V8. As much as I love Japanese builds, the US is still king of the hill for custom builds. Link to article
louie Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 What an insane machine. And I agree with you 110 % about this country still being THE KING OF THE HILL. Always and forever. Thanks for sharing this one. Jeff
djflyer Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Definitely a crazy build - I mean where do you get the idea for a 9 Liter/ 1800hp marine engine?? And the outside and inside are totally sleek. That is one thing I like about the pro-tour philosophy. Take some of the great designs and insert some of today's best technology and Detroit gave us some great designs to work with in the late 60's/early 70's.
gtx6970 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 About the only thing I dont like is the exposed headlights. I much prefer the clean look of the hidden headlights in a charger.Other wise WOW, thats one baddass machineNice look that still keeps to the original lines of a 1970 Charger. Love the interior design
rusty85 Posted December 4, 2015 Author Posted December 4, 2015 I expect the idea came from Mercury racing themselves. As I under stand it this car was on display in their booth at SEMA along with a rear engined prototype looking car featuring the same engine. Part of a push to market it to high end custom builders.
