crazyjim Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 I have a thought for some decals but don't know if it will work. I'm thinking of white decal paper and using green and gold letters over a black background. Anybody in the know, think that would work?
Lunajammer Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Just so I'm clear, are the green and gold decals going over black paint or is the black background part of the decal. My experience with using BMF brand laser print white decal paper is the laser ink flakes off when cutting tight curves, even after a layer of sealant. If that color is dark you'll see ragged edges of white. No problem with straight or lightly curved cuts. Can't speak for other decal brands. As far as coverage, I don't see why it wouldn't work.
crazyjim Posted December 6, 2015 Author Posted December 6, 2015 The background will be white. I thought I'd do a black circle and then add green lettering and a gold logo on top.
TooOld Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 It should work just fine . You should know that white decal paper is not completely opaque and the paint color underneath shows thru to some extent . . . light colored paint is good , dark is bad (there are ways to combat this) . The same thing goes for printer ink , it's not opaque either .If you have a black or colored background printed on the decal , go around the edges with a marker after you cut out the decal . No more white edges !
