my grandfather asked me to build him a model of his truck AND sourced me a kit to build it. my question is.... is there anywhere i can get the GMC panels to make this chevy into a GMC? the badges are different, as is the Grille, radiator, front cross member, tail gate, gauges, and engine. obviously i can make the truck look like grandpas, but i would like to be exact. i need to source the military rims too.

That's a good looking truck and cool you found the resin to make it a good GMC.

Those dog dish caps look very familiar to me. I built a GMC Van my daughter had, which was a 1985. The hub caps were the same as you show and I made them simply with a plastic dish with a decal. There are photos of what I did on this page ..

also here and the final version on this page

those would be perfect. ill have to keep scouring the web i guess.

i dont want the hub caps shown on the 1:1, i need the rims in the stand alone picture

Those are called Artillery Wheels. They were never stock on those trucks, but do look god on them. Not sure what hubcap you have in mind, but the Revell '37 Ford pickup and panel kits both have those wheels.

There was a GMC conversion kit done by Shawn Carpenter. I believe he stopped when GMC complained.  I have it somewhere. I know it was the grille, hood and tailgate. I don't remember if there was a dash. I know there wasn't an engine.

engine and dash i can deal with, but the hood, tailgate and grille are too different to put on there. i cant find the parts anywhere on the net.

Franklin Mint (die-cast) has one in 1/24. You might try to find a damaged one for the parts, and cut them down slightly. Or find a decent one and repaint it to match your inspiration.

The 2000 Christmas edition can be had for around $30.

Several builders on here have made stunning models from damaged die-cast starting points.

anyone have a link to someone that makes the resin parts im looking for, or has a set for sale? apparently according to the local model shop these are unicorn parts, no one makes them anymore.

Ertl made a diecast bank that you may be able to use the grille from.
The dash itself is the same as the Chevy, but the trim above the speaker grille says general motors truck instead of Chevrolet, and the gauges are different colors.
