I have acquired four Euro engines on eBay. I have ID'd them up to a point. Can anyone tell me the power rating of those engines?

  1. Mercedes Actros (Italeri 715)
  2. Mercedes OM, looks like a 502LA
  3. MAN 2.321 (Italeri 756)
  4. DAF 2800 (Italeri 781)

  Pat,

As to the Horsepower rating on those motors. I really have no idea. But I will be watching to see what vehicles you put them in.

The M A N is a 26.321.
The power rating depends on what version the engines are but I would think they are in the 320-450 hp range (except for the Mercedes OM 502LA wich are rated higher) as that's what was common in the day these trucks were from.
More modern European trucks has engines rated up to 750 hp.
But if you know the engine type google is your friend and you will for sure find out what you need to know about them.

After some searching, it looks like the green MB is from Italeri 3824 which is a Mercedes Actros 1854LS. Still looks like an OM series engine to me. Here's a photo of the original purchase:

Since then I have detailed the  MAN 26.321 as a used but serviceable engine.

Lately, between sanding sessions on the '34 Chevy I had an idea about the OM502 MB.

Took it apart.

The  turbos looked they had been sawed off. Made some new end caps.
