Scale-Master Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 Thanks guys! I finished and installed the interior. I went with navy blue and gray (instead of black). Added a wood grained shifter to match the steering wheel. Seats and shifter are from a ’70 Camaro. I also got the taillights done.
Scale-Master Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 Even though I was going to make it a curbside, I thought it still needed an engine. So “logically” I stuffed a 1/24th scale 429 Hemi into the 1/25th scale Camaro bay…
blunc Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 are ya gonna put a RochCraft Q-barrel carb on it?
Scale-Master Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 No, I think I'll keep the blob that's molded on the manifold already. FWIW, I've have no problem with Rochester carbs, (and I've had several, worked on many more), they worked great and were easy to work on when needed. The only reason I went to Holley or other carbs was when I needed a carb that delivered more than 625cfm.
blunc Posted February 2, 2016 Posted February 2, 2016 (edited) I wasn't knocking Rochester carbs (or any other for that matter), the RochCraft Q-barrel is a brand I made up many years ago.. sort of a combination of a Motorcraft carb and a Quadra-Jet. I've worked on just about any carb from the fifties all the way through the mid eighties electronic carbs, including Ford's failure at a reliable variable venturi down draft carb. I ran a Thermo-quad on my 68 Firebird for many years since people back then (that didn't know how to work on them properly) were just throwing them away. Edited February 2, 2016 by blunc typo
Scale-Master Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 Then I guess it does have a Roch-Craft on it. Kinda hard to tell with the lack of detail... =)
Scale-Master Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 (edited) I figured with an engine that size it should run 15 inch rims and full sized tires. I used the Shelby wheels from the 429 Mustang kit. Edited February 2, 2016 by Scale-Master
Scale-Master Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 The knock offs are resin pieces I mastered and cast, the Goodyears are my decals and the mirrors came from the Mustang.
Crazy Ed Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 If Ol' Doc Frankenstien did as good a job on his Mix n Match Buid the result woulda been a Romantic Lead instead of a Monster!!
Casey429 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Looks like something a programmer would've dreamt up for use in Grand Theft Auto or some other video game. Blend together elements from several cars and make enough details generic, avoid copyright infringement. Neat!
