junkyardjeff Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 It was built but sat on a shelf in the basement for over 20 years since I had no room any place else until a cat knocked it off and into pieces, the only part that was damaged was the sleeper so it got tossed so I shortened the frame and made it a day cab. I do not know when it will be finished since I have plenty of others to work on first but it was saved and not tossed in the trash
gatorincebu Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 I always like it.When someone can save an old model from being tossed out in the trash. Hope you can see you way clear to work on this one. Be Well Gator
junkyardjeff Posted December 27, 2015 Author Posted December 27, 2015 It came completely apart when it hit the ground and I still had the instructions,I also found some parts that were never installed that helps a bunch since it will now be completely built. Now if I could only find a V12 Detroit to stuff in it.
Brinx Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Good start Jeff, glad you decided to rescue the old 925. I like your frame shortening method, works great with the walking beams.looking forward to watching this one come alive.
junkyardjeff Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 Did some more digging in the box and found more parts missing,it fell on the basement floor and I would think I would have seen all the parts but there are a couple still hiding.

I like your frame shortening method, works great with the walking beams.looking forward to watching this one come alive.I just cut the back of the frame and reglued the end part instead of cutting in the middle,I will have to redrill a few holes for the fuel tanks but that is no big deal.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Great rescue project! Looking good so far!
junkyardjeff Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 Is this the same truck used in the tv show Moving on back in the early 70s
Old Buckaroo Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 (edited) Is this the same truck used in the tv show Moving on back in the early 70sKinda / sorta - It is the same truck AMT boxed as the "Movin On" truck but the one in the show had a later cab with the latches along the bottom of the door instead of the handles up high. Great save you have going on here ! Edited December 28, 2015 by Old Buckaroo
gino Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 nice work ! glad to see someone saving another oldie !
junkyardjeff Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 If my memory is correct that show came out around 73? so this truck is slightly older.
junkyardjeff Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 Making some progress on it,I about have the frame done and everything is going to get painted one color like a old fleet truck. since I shortened the frame I rearranged the gas tank on one side and found a shorter battery box.
