Carl, you can print this stuff.  Google "printable miniatures" and a bunch of sites for doll house people come up.  Remember a doll house is 1/12 scale and the smaller ones they call "half scale" is 1/24 scale.  You can find all kinds of things that you can print, especially the interior junk type stuff you mentioned.  

Look in this photo.  The Checkers box, the trunk and the keyboard were all printed by me.  For the Checkers box I cut out the image and cut laminated three pieces of balsa wood to be the correct size and depth. Then I simply glued the box sides to the wood with white glue.  The trunk was pasted to a wood chunk and I cut 4 small pieces of Evergreen strip to make the keyboard.  It's easy stuff!
