Lovefordgalaxie Posted March 3, 2016 Author Posted March 3, 2016 Thanks for the reply much appreciated..I recently started a project and it has badges I want to try your method but I already painted the body with testors aztek acrylic..do you think I might be able to foil the lettering and put another coat of paint?? Also would thinner work on acrylic?? Well, you can foil the badges and give the body another coat of paint. Testors acrylic won't cause any harm if another coat is added. Just remember to trim the foil as close as possible to the actual lettering/badge/emblem, so the edge won't show under the paint. I never had problems taking the paint from the foil using thinner, even on acrylic paint. You don't want to get the wood toothpick "wet" with thinner. Dip the tip on thinner, wipe the excess that could drip on your paint job, and then slowly rub the paint from the top of the foiled areas.
parkflyrer 50 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Just thought I'd share my attempt at foiling the body script thanks again for your advice
hedotwo Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Great job! With summer finally hitting my area I'm struggling to find the time to finish the same '56 Ford although in Turquoise/White. Nice foiling especially... I just finished my foiling and found it to be not too bad to do on this kit.
