cobraman Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 (edited) I built 2 of these last year but got the bug to build another when I saw one being built here. Will make a few minor changes. Not sure of color yet. Also have included a couple pics of my previous builds. Edited February 29, 2016 by cobraman title change
louie Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Yes , Yes, Yes, Love it, Love it, Love it. I'm sorry I got carried away when I saw this. Cobraman, right up my alley with these. I've heard some people pick these AWB kits apart, but with a little bit of work they can come out like gold as you have proven with the 2 that you have built. Nice, Nice, Nice stuff Cobraman and I definitely will be following this one. Thank you. Jeff
Misha Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Certainly agree that these are decent kits that with a bit of work and ingenuity can be built up into very presentable as shown by Ray's work above, bravo! Have the Falcon as a long term WIP, would be great to see the AWB Olds reappear (if possible?)Looking forward to following your build.Cheers Misha
wayne swayze Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Your previous builds look great Ray! The wheels for your new build are lookin' sharp! Any idea for colour?
Roadrunner Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 This will be interesting. I too have the same model in progress, but it's on hold for a while longer.
Speedfreak Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 All right Ray! I'm in for this one! Right off the bat I have questions: Are those the kit 'tires? Because I like the finish on them. Also those seats are superb, they look much better than the kit seats. Are those after market? Looking good Ray! I know your're either working on the tub, or , the frame so carry on man!
slusher Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Great start Ray and two sharp builds under your belt already. You and Gene are giving me the itch to build mine or build a Mustang at least....
cobraman Posted February 17, 2016 Author Posted February 17, 2016 Thank you very much to all you fellows. I am thinking i want this one yellow. The tires on the rear are from the kit but I replaced the plastic front ones with some vinyl ones from the parts box. The seats are from a Cobra kit. The seats in these AWB kits are way too small IMO.

Speedfreak Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Yellow should work well on this car Ray! Very dramatic.
cobraman Posted February 17, 2016 Author Posted February 17, 2016 Here is another little update. Adding a rear spoiler to the car. Here you can see the unpainted seat that comes with these cars. Way under size IMO. Look more like a 1/32 scale seat to me. Ordered a aluminum pre wired distributor and have to wait to get that to finish the engine.
Speedfreak Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Looking good Ray, have you put the seats you're planning on using in the tub and put the body on to see how things scale up?
cobraman Posted February 18, 2016 Author Posted February 18, 2016 Yes I have Gene. These seats look much more in scale and will work fine IMO.
Davewilly Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Looks good sor far...The first 2 look pretty good as well!
cobraman Posted February 18, 2016 Author Posted February 18, 2016 Got a bit more done and did another quick mock up.
Speedfreak Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 (edited) Looking good Ray, this thing will 'really' pop in yellow with all the black accents. Ray, I just noticed, looks like you painted the rear wheel spokes? Looks very cool if that's the case. Bring on the yellow! Are you gonna use clear, or , blue glass? Edited February 18, 2016 by Speedfreak
cobraman Posted February 18, 2016 Author Posted February 18, 2016 Thanks Gene. If you see me use the blue glass you will know I screwed up the clear. Actually the blue might look good with the yellow paint. Hmmmm
cobraman Posted February 19, 2016 Author Posted February 19, 2016 Got the body painted today. Stayed with the yellow idea. Still need to decal, clear and foil.
AC Norton Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 color combo and all look just great....hard to beat that, for sure...the Ace....
Speedfreak Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Ray, this is going to look really cool! Have you decided on the glass yet?
