Absolutely. He was as influential on musical style as, say, Phil Spector or Berry Gordy.

He also played on many of the Beatle's songs. Not many people know that. And he was also a composer. The strings on "Eleanor Rigby" are his composition.

They did occasionally refer to him as the "fifth Beatle" in the media back in the day...

And rightfully so. They called Ringo the glue of the group, but George Martin was the glue of their recordings, gelling their musical thoughts. RIP.

He also put a lot of work into " Strawberry Fields Forever".

Also listen to Cheap Trick's  "ALL SHOOK UP" album that he produced, it has a BEATLE ESQUE sound to it. (not sure if I spelled that correctly)
