Griff Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I was wondering if anybody has used the series of Iwata air compressors out right now. They have great reviews, but are considerably more expensive than the stacked 1 gallon compressors. My little starter compressor is done, so I need a replacement that will last, this is the one I'm interested in. http://www.chicagoairbrushsupply.com/iwpojetco.html
Daddyfink Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I use a Grex Compressor, you can find them for sale at under $200.00
Harry Joy Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 I have an Iwata Power Jet Pro. Love it. My best friend has one, and he talked me into buying one years ago. Yes, it was expensive, but I saved a little. And I sold off part of the stash, and the wedding ring I still had from my first marriage. It was a good trade. I'll have this compressor until I shuffle off this mortal coil, unlike my first wife, and it's more dependable than she ever was.
Phirewriter Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 I've found Iwata's line of compressors to be very dependable. I have a Power Jet as a backup compressor (use a line in from the garage compressor for my primary air source) I'm am very happy with it. Depending on the size your looking for the Grex is indeed a good value too, plus Chicago Airbrush is a great store if you are contemplating making your purchase from them. I managed the art department for a hobby shop a number of years ago. I've tested and worked with many compressors from a number of manufacturers. Both Grex and Iwata have good products through their lines. You might want to look at Silentaire's Scorpion line of compressors too.
Roadrunner Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 I've been using 20lb CO2 tanks for years now, and will never use a compressor again, not for hobby stuff anyway.
