gtx6970 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 If its a big tank car, I have . not a common option on early vettes
Dandy Dan Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 That's the thing: they used to be called 'Big Tank' cars but a dealer who shall be unnamed pushed 'Tanker' into the venacular. The big tank cover is in one of the old AMT Corvette annuals, i forget what year. '65 or '66 maybe
Greg Myers Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 along with quit a few Grand Sport parts long before Accurate Miniatures.
Lizard Racing Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 The Grand Sport parts came with the '64 coupe. Parts included hood scoop, rear fender scoops, big tank and Halibrand wheels as I remember.I still have some of the parts.

I'll have to check when I get home--have unbuilt copies of both.
unclescott58 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 Know of the option. I've only seen them in photos. And I don't recalled hearing about them being called "tankers" or not.
Snake45 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 To me, a "tanker" is a shortened M1 Garand rifle. (They're pretty cool.)
TomZ Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 FWIW the car auction shows have always called them tankers.
Greg Myers Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 Ah yes "The Car Auction Shows" Babbling on and on filling air with all kinds of useful information.

Greg Myers Posted March 31, 2016 Author Posted March 31, 2016 I think the most recent re release also has many of these parts. At least the scoop.
Snake45 Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Just checked a mint unbuilt '65 kit. It has all the GS parts mentioned above, as well as the cross-ram Webers.
