Just in time for the NNL East. I finished this BAD BOY up last night at about 2am. Scale Motorsports trans. kit with the Revell C6R kit. The paint is Corvette Le Mans yellow from Zero paints toped with Omni clear. I added some detail to the interior but, as you can see, it pretty much all gets covered up.

I am very pleased with the results! The only real issue was getting the door windows to fit. For anyone planning on building this kit, leave the metal door frames off & glue the windows to the body & top of the doors. The metal frames just did not fit right.

Questions, comments, critiques welcome!

Very nicely done. Love the slight weathering that you did. What color did you use for the weathering? Now you need to get one of the kits with the Bad Boy Vet decals when you are at the NNL.

Jay, great job on the C6R….the “light†weathering looks great. Please, answer this for me as I am really not sure. I have the Revell model, and yes, I was disappointed when I first opened the box to see how simplified the kit was. I know it builds into a decent model with a little care and detail work, but…other than the wheels, what makes the Scale Motorsports kit worth the money? I just don’t understand what they give you that is that much better than the Revell base kit and a little scratch building detail work produces.

I am looking forward to seeing your build, live, in person, up close and personal tomorrow in Wayne. Nice job.

That is a truly beautiful corvette racer, I like very much the light and realistic weathering you applied to the model. I would like that the company who produce this detailing kit would make the wheels available as a separate set.

Does Papis, O'Connell, and Fellows now you stole their car?

Excellent build Jay.

Fantastic work and realism with the added weathering! I love it.

Did you paint your wheels and wash them or did you just use a wash on them?

Looks great!

I left them bare & added a thin black wash to them.

The road grime was made with a Tamiya weathering kit. I also thinned out flat black paint to make it look like chunks of rubber had been kicked up & stuck to the body.

Over all it is an Excellent build.

I thought the wheels where real aluminum (are they?)

The Weather is perfect, not over the top..

Looks like it just got done with a run..

Absolutely an awesome job!!

I love my ALMS cars and this one always makes me smile. It was nice talking to you about it at the NNL East, it was nice seeing it up close in personal, i'm glad it got it's picture taken.

Very nice !!! The weathering on the tires and along the rockers really make this a nice model and those wheels! I just hope that they'll make them available separately someday.
