Zarana-X Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Excellent job! The 411, and 412 were sold in the US, but they're nearly extinct. Haven't seen one in person in about 10 years.
10thumbs Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Great model!I owned one of those things, must have been maybe late 70's. Kind of a rare VW animal, not many sold, it ran well, had lots of room, but then the trouble started. Fuel injection was faulty and difficult to tune, read it guzzled gas like a V8! I was happy to get rid of it.
ZTony8 Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I worked as a porter at a VW dealer back in the mid 70s and got to sample a few of the Type 4s.They were stone slow and would develop a fluctuating idle problem.I don't remember the fix for it.The engine was the same type as the concurrent Type 2(Bus).And they even sold a few manual trans equipped cars here-those were all 2 door fastbacks and they were almost peppy.Any other version had an automatic trans.
prostreeter69 Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Great looking build. I had a type 3 back in the 80's. Would love to figure out how to get those kits in the states
feretzrus Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Beautiful!!! I love this! Want one, gotta look up Airtrax again. A well done model of an obscure subject!
