maltsr Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 And many more! One of them is English, another member born in England, so may I include U2 as British?
SfanGoch Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 One of them is English, another member born in England, so may I include U2 as British? What's to quibble about? They speak Engrish, right?
Harry P. Posted May 14, 2016 Author Posted May 14, 2016 One of them is English, another member born in England, so may I include U2 as British? Eh... I see them as Irish, But ok.
maltsr Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 What's to quibble about? They speak Engrish, right? The Irish members on the forum may not see it that way
maltsr Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Eh... I see them as Irish, But ok. Are we going to do a separate Irish band thread?
Harry P. Posted May 14, 2016 Author Posted May 14, 2016 If we do, I vote for Sinead O'Connor! After U2, of course...

maltsr Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 If we do, I vote for Sinead O'Connor! Great choice! How about Thin Lizzy and Van Morrison (from Northern Ireland)?
Harry P. Posted May 14, 2016 Author Posted May 14, 2016 Don't forget the various bands Eric Clapton was in... Blind Faith, Cream, and Derek and the Dominoes...
SfanGoch Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Are we going to do a separate Irish band thread? If that happens, let me mention Tommy Makem and The Clancy Brothers. I spent many an evening at Tommy Makem's Irish Pavilion, on East 57th Street, marinating my brain cells with Black bush while listening to Rebel music.
Harry P. Posted May 14, 2016 Author Posted May 14, 2016 Great choice! How about Thin Lizzy and Van Morrison (from Northern Ireland)? Van Morrison... close enough to British, I guess. My favorite Thin Lizzy song...
maltsr Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Don't forget the various bands Eric Clapton was in... Blind Faith, Cream, and Derek and the Dominoes...... previously mentioned John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and the Yardbirds, home to Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page, but I'm sure you knew that.
SfanGoch Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Don't forget the various bands Eric Clapton was in... Blind Faith, Cream, and Derek and the Dominoes... I saw him every so often during my Trump Tower days. He lived at The Galleria, on East 57th Street, with Carla Bruni. After his son died in 1991, she moved into Trump tower.
Harry P. Posted May 14, 2016 Author Posted May 14, 2016 ... previously mentioned John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and the Yardbirds, home to Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page, but I'm sure you knew that. Yes. In fact I posted a Yardbirds song with Jimmy Page on lead guitar earlier.

SfanGoch Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 (edited) You're such a name dropper... It's all part of being a boulevardier without the money. I schmoozed around with the right people in my younger days. Google "David Mugrabi". I used to get booze for him, his brother and friends when the parents were out. Edited May 14, 2016 by SfanGoch
maltsr Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Oh, I forgot to mention Queen was the opening act. I saw Queen supporting Mott the Hoople at Leeds Town Hall in 1973 - great gig! Must have been the same tour
