cobraman
My absolute favorite DC5 song... which reinforces my theory that any song that features a harmonica is a good song... I think "Try too Hard" was my fav.
Harry P.
Another great British band... Queen. Of course, Freddie Mercury always stole the spotlight, but I think Brian May was just as much an integral part of the band, although basically overlooked. Here he is in a rare "starring performance" doing my all-time favorite Queen song...
Snake45
I'll second that. Say Them with my friends at the old Uris Theatre in 1974.Stiff Little fingers is a close second. Is that a NYC theater? And was that in the summer, maybe July?

SfanGoch
Is that a NYC theater? And was that in the summer, maybe July? Yup. It was renamed The Gershwin and it was on W.51st Street. The show was on May 11. Being on a Saturday, it was the only way I was able to go. I was a month away from graduating 8th grade. I still have the ticket stubs from all of the concerts I went to somewhere in the cave. Edited May 14, 2016 by SfanGoch

SfanGoch
A lot of their albums were concept type. That was a popular theme with a lot of artists in the mid-late 1970s. Remember the Intergalactic Touring Band?
Harry P.
Sorry, but yet another vote for the Hollies. Probably the biggest "unknown" band of all time. And Graham Nash gets a shot at lead vocals in the last verse...
SfanGoch
King Crimson is another favorite. Robert Fripp is one of the best guitarists in the business. His work with League of Gentleman was really good. I saw him at Club 57 on St. Mark's Place in the East Village in 1980.

Harry P.
Not technically a band, but another of my faves is Elvis Costello. "What's the use of looking when you don't know what they mean?" Short and to the point!
Harry P.
Man! The more I think about this, the more I come up with. ELO. Saw them while in college, second row. Wow, they were loud!
SfanGoch
I'm also a big fan of the Two Tone movement from the late '70s - early '80s. Madness and The Specials pretty much epitomized the sound. Time to skank
Harry P.
Another vote for the Hollies. A live version of Procol Harum's "Whiter Shade of Pale."
