DrKerry Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 I'm building the Eliminator coupe of Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) and have looked online to no avail. I'm hoping someone here knows what color is the interior color?? Thanks in advance to anyone that knows or can help!!!!!
highway Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 You're right Kerry, I'm not finding much either. The best I found was a clone, but it does have a couple decent interior shots of it. I don't know how true it is to the original, but here's the link if you'd like to check it out.http://www.hubgarage.com/mygarage/bons31coupe/vehicles/64033
Deathgoblin Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 Check the video for "Gimme All Your Lovin'". It looks like the interior is a dark red and cream/light tan (radome tan?)
DrKerry Posted May 15, 2016 Author Posted May 15, 2016 Thanks guys, I know in the video it is a darker color. Guess I forgot to add that I'm looking for a paint that is close to this color, does anyone have an idea of what would be close to the burgundy color?I've seen those pics Matthew but they aren't the original like I'm trying to build. I'd like it to be closer to the original if I can. I know the model doesn't have arm rests in it although one of the vids shows the lady getting out and holding onto an arm rest. I'm not getting that detailed with it, just close....

I don't know, but since at least to me it looks sort of like a brownish red, maybe Hull Red would work? I think I have some of it painted on a hull of a Titanic I started, I'll see if I can find it and give you an idea what it would look like if you want. You'd have to clear it with semi gloss for the door panels and gloss for the dash, but it might be close. I found that out Kerry. It sounds like we were thinking along the same lines, I started looking on Youtube for videos!
DrKerry Posted May 15, 2016 Author Posted May 15, 2016 I would appreciate it highway. Would like to compare and see.
highway Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 As soon as I remember where I put my USB cables I got tired of seeing hanging out of the front of my computer!
highway Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 As soon as I remember where I put my USB cables I got tired of seeing hanging out of the front of my computer! LOL, I hear ya there...... Well, finally found the USB cables where I thought I wouldn't forget where I put them! It may be a little more on the brown side, but I think maybe with a gloss coat over it, it may brighten up closer to the color in the original pic you posted. I might just have to pull my Eliminator off the shelf and experiment! This is Tamyia XF 9 Hull Red.
DrKerry Posted May 16, 2016 Author Posted May 16, 2016 That is pretty darned close, If I mix a little and I do mean very little white it could lighten it enough too...... Did you paint that over a white base??
highway Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 That is pretty darned close, If I mix a little and I do mean very little white it could lighten it enough too...... Did you paint that over a white base??Yes, it is just painted straight over the white plastic the kit was molded in.
